HiFi Rose RA280 Integrated Amplifier

A 250 Wpc class-AD amp with MM phonostage, subwoofer out, tone control, and beautiful industrial design. 

Inheriting key technologies from the 200W and far more elaborate RA180, the 250W RA280 uses innovative class-AD technology to achieve huge damping power and greatly shortens the “dead time” that affects class-D designs.

With an industrial look that nods to steampunk, the RA180 is built around a sturdy aluminum chassis in a classy matte finish, real VU meters, and chunky controls with great tactile feedback.

Putting the A into Class D

HiFi Rose pushes the performance of highly efficient class-D amplification with the use of gallium nitride FETs (field effect transistor) that replace more traditional silicon FETs and offer more linearity by pushing the switching speed close to zero. This means you get the detail, great bass, and overall efficiency of a class-D amp with the smoothness and natural reproduction of a class A or AB amp.

An optional tone control allows for +/- 15 dB adjustment of bass and treble, and uses active EQ to preserve fideilty.

The RA180 uses a dual-mono design powered by a high-efficiency supply that uses silicon carbide FETs to allow for high output with minimal heat generation. Also, the RA180 has a 2.5 kW power factor correction circuit that allows for excellent transient response.
